The Little Explorers 1 room is a warm, nurturing space designed especially for children aged 3 to 18 months, offering a homely environment where our youngest explorers feel safe, loved, and ready to discover the world around them. With natural materials, cosy areas for rest and play, and thoughtfully arranged spaces that encourage gentle exploration, the room supports secure attachments and predictable routines that help babies settle confidently.
Each child has a dedicated key person who builds a trusting relationship with them and their family, ensuring personalised care that follows home routines for feeding, sleeping, and comfort. Children enjoy rich sensory experiences, early communication through songs and stories, and plenty of opportunities for physical development such as rolling, crawling, and cruising.
Our staff provide responsive interactions throughout the day, creating a space where curiosity is encouraged and every milestone is celebrated. Mealtimes are relaxed and supportive, sleep times are peaceful and closely supervised, and outdoor experiences are woven into daily practice. Natural materials, open‑ended resources, and cosy areas for quiet moments help children feel secure while encouraging them to explore at their own pace. Each child continues to benefit from a dedicated key person, ensuring consistent emotional support, personalised routines, and strong partnerships with families. Daily experiences include early language activities, simple role play, sensory exploration, and opportunities for climbing, balancing, and building.

Toddlers enjoy mud kitchen play, water exploration, loose‑parts building, and simple risk‑taking such as stepping up, jumping down, and navigating uneven ground.
Each child continues to benefit from a consistent key person, offering emotional security, personalised routines, and strong communication with families. Staff model language, support turn‑taking, and encourage early friendships, helping children build social skills and a growing sense of self. Children enjoy a balance of child‑led play and gently guided experiences that build early literacy, numeracy, and communication skills. They engage in mark‑making, storytelling, imaginative role play, small‑world scenes, construction, and sensory exploration, all designed to strengthen language, social development, and cognitive growth. Staff support children to take turns, share ideas, manage emotions, and build confidence in making choices and trying new challenges.

Pre-School
The Pre‑School room is a rich, inspiring environment for our 3–4‑year‑olds, designed to prepare children confidently for their transition into Reception. At this age, children are imaginative thinkers, problem‑solvers, and enthusiastic communicators, so the room is organised into purposeful areas that promote independence, collaboration, and deep, meaningful learning. Children engage in early literacy and numeracy through playful experiences—mark‑making, storytelling, phonics games, counting, sorting, and exploring patterns—while also developing creativity through art, construction, role play, and small‑world investigation.
Outdoor learning is woven into each day, giving children opportunities to explore nature, work together, take safe risks, and build physical strength and resilience. From large‑scale construction and imaginative outdoor role play to observing wildlife and experimenting with natural materials, the garden becomes an extension of the classroom where curiosity thrives.

Our Gardens
Our nursery has two AstroTurf all year round gardens.
One Garden is designed for the babies and younger children. It has an outdoor classroom and a sun shade. Babies are encouraged to use this space to explore their outside world.
The other garden is used by the older children and contains vehicles, mud play and a log cabin to allow for play all year round
